White Wine

The white wine represents a category of wines with many nuances, which is characterized by the huge variety of grape varieties, territories and climates, each leading to different features. In this wine shop you can choose from a selection of over a thousand of the best Italian white wines, from the best areas of all Italian regions. In this assortment you will find at your fingertips the fresh and acidic white wines of the Marche, such as „Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi” or the more intense ones from Matelica, or the elegant ones from the Langhe, such as “Roero Arneis” or “Gavi”, or the fragrant and seductive white wines from Alto Adige, such as “Gewürztraminer” or “Pino Bianco”, “Müller Thurgau” or many others.

If we talk about white wine, we cannot forget to mention the white wines of Friuli, such as “Ribolla Gialla”, “Malvasia”, “Friulano” or “Vitovska”, both vinified in white and macerated "Orange Wine", a true tradition of Friuli carried on by skilled winegrowers such as Damijan Podversic and many others; not far from here we can find the white wines of Veneto in the Verona area such as “Soave”, “Bianco di Custoza DOC” or Garda white wines such as “Lugana”.

There are also fine white wines in this selection from regions known mainly for their red wines, such as Tuscan whites like “Vernaccia di San Gimignano”, a wine with excellent ageing potential (as are some Sicilian “Grillo” or “Erbaluce” from Piedmont). Moving to the south, from there come the “Trebbiano d'Abruzzo” or Sardinian “Vermentino di Gallura”, or the “Greco di Tufo” wines from Campania, the savoury and mineral “Fiano di Avellino” or the fresh and light “Falanghina del Sannio”, or other Sicilian white wines such as “Catarratto”, “Inzolia” or “Etna Bianco”; all available to you in this section.

White wine can assume very different properties, depending not only on the grape variety and the region, but also on the choices of the winegrowers. A wine differs depending on the type of cultivation in the vineyard, cellar practices or the time of harvest; for example, the same grapes will have different characteristics depending on whether they are harvested when they reach their "technical" maturity (i.e. when acids and sugars in the berry are balanced), or if they are harvested early or late.

The colour of white wines ranges from a pale straw yellow to a golden tone (such as some barrique “Chardonnay”) or an amber shade, the most typical aromas on the nose are those of flowers, but every wine is also enhanced by other peculiarities and flavours that make that bottle unique; on the palate their typical freshness makes them perfect both for an aperitif and for a whole meal, fish and shellfish, but also vegetables and white meat.

In this selection you will find Italian white wines (and not only), both prestigious and cheap. You can choose between the most famous wineries and those with small productions, which directly manage their own vineyards.
